Pascal Allio’s new creation examines his career as a dancer, the works that made him grow up and become who he is now. In this piece, he shows, among others, Christine Bastin’s dances taken from Bless (1989) and Gueule de Loup (1992), dances adapted from Jean Gaudin’s L'Ascète de San Clémente et la Vierge Marie (1986) and from Daniel Larrieu’s Jungle sur la planète Vénus (1992).

Eléonore Didier works on the fact that, in Ancient Greece and Rome, there was no distinction between homosexuality and heterosexuality, but between passive and active attitudes. Her solo finds its way between those attitudes, sometimes active, sometimes passive, working on vertical and horizontal axes, and on the representations of femininity.

In 2006, Laurence Yadi and Nicolas Cantillon created Climax, a solo performed by Nicolas Cantillon, based on a succession of emblematic images taken from dance history, sports and politics. Isabelle Anna is one of the few “non-Indian” dancers officially acknowledged by the Indian government to represent Kathak in other countries. Kathak Opus 3 is a new creation which follows the rules of traditional Kathak, and which shows off the freedom given to the dancers in their inventiveness and interactions.

Hélène Cathala was a dancer in Dominique Bagouet’s company. She created her first company in 1993 with Fabrice Ramalingom. In this new creation, she works on folk singers, and the way they used both committed texts and everyday words, together with vocal emphasis and even, sometimes, technical virtuosity. Talking Blues is especially inspired by American poet Allen Ginsberg and his long poem HOWL, haunted and blunt.

Repères, cahier de danse is a dance review that is published twice a year by CDC / Biennale de danse du Val-de-Marne. Sylviane Pagès will read her text about the way Merce Cunningham was received in France, published in the last issue (April 2009).
